Director - Shripriya Mahesh

Shripriya Mahesh is an Indian-born filmmaker based in New York City. She grew up in Madras, India in a family of entrepreneurs, artists and non-profit pioneers.

Deferring her artistic dreams, Shripriya earned an MBA from Harvard and had a successful career in Silicon Valley, ultimately managing a $400 million business for one of the most prominent Internet companies. Unable to escape her inner muse, she left the corporate world to dedicate herself to filmmaking. She is currently pursuing an MFA in the Graduate Film Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

In That Moment, her first film at NYU, was an official selection at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, Olympia Film Festival and over a dozen other film festivals. The Way It’s Played was an official selection at the New York Indian Film Festival, the New Jersey Film Festival and several others. Shripriya’s latest film, Reprise, is just starting the festival circuit and she is working on a feature script set in India.

Her films explore themes of loss, longing, departure, separation and occasional happiness – themes that encapsulate the human condition in an increasingly disconnected world.

Shripriya lives with her husband and twin toddler boys.
